This is aimed at farmers\/growers and students who wish to try growing food naturally without applying any chemicals, fertilisers and animal manures. On this basic course, you will look at the importance of soil; role of composts; basic idea of seed savings, the concept of purification and our attitude towards problems such as diseases, pests and weeds. The course consists of lecture\/presentation, farm tour and fieldwork. We will provide vegan lunch.<\/p>\n<p><em>Shumei Natural Agriculture was featured in &#8220;On your farm&#8221; programme on BBC Radio 4 in May 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>By the end of this course you should be able to&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the key concepts of Shumei Natural Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Understand the role of soil and composts\/catch crops<\/li>\n<li>Understand the importance of seed saving in Natural Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Understand the attitudes towards pests and weeds<\/li>\n<li>Understand the concept of purification<\/li>\n<li>Recognise how people\u2019s thoughts would affect plants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10:30 &#8211; 12:00 Presentation Part 1 (About soil)<br \/>\n12:00 &#8211; 14:00 Lunch &amp; Farm tour<br \/>\n14:00 &#8211; 15:30 Presentation Part 2 (\u201cthe concept of purification and our atittude towards problems\u201d)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Basic course:<br \/>\nThis year, we will have the basic course on the following four days.
